We’ll take you out on some of the best adventure days offering perfect opportunities for unique and exciting adventure activities under the guidance of professional instructors who will look after you well & have some fun. This can help towards having a rewarding and fantastic holiday experience for all your family & friends together in the fresh air – no matter the weather!
Number of Days | Choose to do either do a full day of one activity or choose a maximum of two half day activities from the list and sample daily programme below – virtually arrange your own tailored itinerary for a group of friends or family.
Maximum Ratios | In order that you can gain maximum benefit from these sessions we limit numbers to 1 instructor to 4 (rock climbing and sailing) or 8 clients – depending on the activity.
Previous Experience | No previous experience is assumed or required on any of these adventure days – they are aimed primarily at novices and virtual beginners. Our friendly and experienced instructors are there to support and encourage you. Our adventure days will suit all ages, abilities and aspirations.
Level of Activity | The prices quoted apply only to Beginner / Improver levels of taster days – where the standard ratios will apply. Where a lower ratio is required on improver, intermediate or advanced skills training, then our more advanced course fees or Private Guiding fees will apply.
Minimum Age & Age Limits | Our usual minimum age is 8 years. Juniors are 16 yrs and under. Minimum age unaccompanied by a parent is 12 yrs. We are occasionally happy to take children 6+ years on some activities – always accompanied by a parent or guardian – this will always be at our discretion. We do not cater for toddlers in any of our activities – for their own safety. We reserve the right to decline bookings including young children in family groups in inclement weather or who are inadequately clad.

We usually run our Adventure Days usually from April – September for individuals, families and groups. For ease of organisation there is the daily programme above for individuals and couples – this gives the option to join other folks on the activity of your choice.
If you are a larger group or family we are more than happy to arrange a programme to fit in with your daily requirements. A family or group booking can be made when we can arrange alternative days to suit your group’s requirements. This is an option to take advantage of our Family or Group Activity Break Tickets. NOTE: We do not normally do half days for rock climbing and hill walking activities.
Pre bookings are preferred to avoid disappointment and essential at busy time of the year. The above activities may take place on the above days for individuals, families and groups. Alternative days can be often be arranged to suit your requirements.
Times | Half Day sessions start from Snowgoose Mountain Centre 9.30 am to 12.30 noon or 1.30 pm to 4.30 p.m. A full day lasts from 9.30am – 4.30 pm. We strongly recommend that you meet us at our centre – it saves us from arriving with the wrong sized boots or buoyancy aid. We are usually back at our base by 5.00pm at the latest.
What will I do? | We have done some of our chosen activity before but want to up our skills – can we still do this? Yes! Have a look at our skills training days and courses – these could well suit you better. Please have a look at our more detailed daily itineraries for our specific adventure days.
What does the price include? | All prices are per person unless you are booked on Family Day Ticket or Group basis. Our prices always include equipment, technical gear, and safety equipment and reasonable, local in course transport for beginners for approximately a minimum of 6 hours per day or 3 hour half day sessions. (Usually dependent on a minimum of 3 persons booking). These prices are exclusive of accommodation & food. All students are expected to come well equipped with personal outdoor clothing but we are always happy to discuss this with the group or staff offering advice and help as required.
What do I need to wear and bring? | Please have a look at our detailed kit list – this will tell you what you need to bring yourself, what we provide (all the hard ware and safety equipment) and anything you may want to hire from us. What about the weather? | All sessions are weather dependent. Every effort will be made to accommodate your booking but should conditions be such that we cannot run your session we will always offer a suitable alternative activity.
Do I need to book? | You will need to book in advance especially in the busy summer season – (call 01397 772467 or email from our web site to book) A non refundable deposit is required to book. Where can I stay? | We provide our 0n site self catering apartments (on a minimum of 2 nts basis) or our shared self catered hostel or bunkhouse – which are really popular with families. Or we can help you find other accommodation in local B&Bs, Guest House, Hotel – or you may wish to camp locally.
